WOYWW 377

Morning..

A quick post from me today I'm afraid as I am mega busy looking after my aging Mum. She's not at all well and my sister and I  are rushing around looking after her at present.

That said I still find I need to craft when I get home to de-stress myself...so I'm joining in The Stamping Grounds weekly 'WOYWW' to share my messy desk..

And here are the projects I have been working on this week.

I did two layouts at a crop on Saturday..and a Christmas card..(which I can't share yet as its a secret swap)

And Sue, who organises the crop, had a birthday and she'd made us all a 'party bag' to take home..now cute is this?

Then I went to Hobbycraft and discovered they have a half price sale on art products in there..so I bought a selection of canvases and I made this.

Which I am entering in the Travel challenge over on the Mixed Media Challenge Blog. as I was 'travelling' when I took this photo in June in Hampshire, UK.

And finally, here is a sneak peek of my first DT project that is going live on Saturday on the Merly Impressions blog... Do hop on over for a look at the final piece.

Forgive me if I don't get around to everyone's blog today..I will try to get there by the end of the week. Thank you all for your comments last week..I left as much love as I had time to share around. Please bear with me while I have this ongoing Mum issue.

To cheer me up I am also sharing this gratuitous photo of my GD Amber who was all dressed up for a wedding.. cute!

Take care, have a good week.

Elaine

  2. What fantastic layouts those are. So intricate and so eye catching.
Love your canvas, I do like the insertion of the smaller one. (or is it a frame?) Love the cutie pie in the last photo too. You must be a proud grandma.

  4. Art is definitely great for destressing! It's hard with elderly parents - good that you can share the burden with your sister. Looking after his elderly mother took a toll on my husband too and affected our whole family. It's something we all have to go through, I guess. Don't feel guilty for resenting it - we all do, that's just the way it is. Loving the circle designs in your layouts and your new canvas looks fabulous! Perhaps I should do something like that with my shells! Wishing you a good week as much as possible! zsuzsa #21

  5. Hello Eliane. WOW I love your layouts and my favorite one is the large flower with the butterfly. The canvas you made is trully stunning and inspires me so much. Sorry to her that your mom isn't doing so well but has two fantastic daughters that love her so much to make sure she is well looked after. Your GD is so beautiful, lucky grandma you are. Thanks for visiting me earlier and have a splendid week. Hugs ~Anne L#7

  6. Oh, Elaine, many blessings with the care of your parents. I know first hand about that! We are taking care of both of our parents. Your stress relief is a wonderful thing to have. Crafting always seems to fit the bill for me! I love your layouts especially the circle one! Sending peace and strength your way! :) Felicia #32

  8. Hi Elaine, WOW! I love those layouts. So very different and eye catching. I may have to go to Hobbycrafts now, lol, you mentioned the SALE word! Met the surgeon, really nice guy. Told us pretty much what we already knew, so no surprises, which is good! Intends to do the surgery end of September, beginning of October. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #3xxx

Fantastic crafting Elaine and just the antidote needed after a day caring for your mum. I have an auntie who went through a bad patch recently so I know just how you feel.

Loving your LOs. the party bag is fab.

    Really like your canvas.

What pretty little girl. She's going to break a few hearts.

Sorry I didn't get on before, but I spent the day in hospital on Wednesday and have been taking it easy since.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  18. Oh how gorgeous does Amber look - those eyes! Make you melt into your early mummy memories, huh! I can totally understand the stresses you and your sister are rushing into and through, it's so hard. Really glad that you're making time to de stress a little - especially with a bit of crafting, because you actually end up with something to show for a day which might otherwise have felt as if you've achieved nothing. Your layouts are beautiful - I love to scrap but never do anything so complicated - I'm a bit of a chick it on gal, love to see the precision. Happy you have a lovely Hampshire photo to show off - it's a fab piece of art now, be sure to hang it somewhere you can enjoy it!
